About the HP Mini 1000
Pretty much everything we know about the HP Mini 1000 is speculation or educated guess at this point. We do know the following for sure:
- The new Mini will have a black plastic case with a special swirl design on the lid, or a pink flower design by Vivienne Tam.
- The Mini should weigh in at 2.25lbs and less than 1″ thick (or thin as HP puts it…)
- Prices start will start at $399
- It appears to have a customized OS available, hopefully better implemented than what happened with SuSE on the 2133.
- The speakers have been moved to the hinge area just above the keyboard
Educated guesses:
- A 1.6 Ghz Atom Processor (since that’s the only Atom option right now and we know it comes with Atom from an ad HP released)
- A 10″ LCD screen, assuming the keyboard size hasn’t changed the screen is bigger when compared to it.
Complete unknowns:
- Hard drive/SSD options
- RAM?
- Screen resolution (c’mon 1280×768!)
- OS options
- Wireless
- Does the express card slot make it?
- More colors like the other manufacturers are doing?
Hopefully on 10/29 we’ll know more for sure!
