HP 2133 Mini-Note

This installation was done on a UK bought MiniNote.
I don’t believe the components are different for US/UK MiniNotes, just the specifications.

Go to the HP website and download these drivers Broadcom Ethernet Driver - Broadcom WiFi Driver - System Default Settings and save them to SD card or USB drive.

Connect your USB CD/DVD drive and insert Windows XP SP3 CD.

Reboot your MiniNote and hit F9 when the options appear on the HP boot screen.

Select your USB CD/DVD drive from the menu, and hit [Enter]

Hit any key when you see the message ‘Press any key to boot from CD…’

Follow the on screen prompts to format and install Windows.

Once the installation has finished and Windows rebooted, you are ready to install the Broadcom Ethernet Driver - Broadcom WiFi Driver - System Default Settings drivers you downloaded from the HP website, then reboot your MiniNote.

Now that you have a working Network connection, you can activate your copy Windows and go to the ‘Windows Update’ site.

After installing the ActiveX and WGA plug-ins, click the ‘Custom’ button  and install the hardware drivers for:

• S3 Video Drivers [6.14.10.133]
• Synaptics Touchpad [10.2.4.0]
• Analogue Audio Drivers [5/15/2008]
• HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor *

Reboot your MiniNote again.

Now go back to HP’s driver site, download and install the rest of the available drivers:

• Software Support for HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth Wireless Technology [sp38983]
• Chicony Camera Driver [sp39153]
• HP Quick Launch Buttons [sp38171]
• SCR33x USB Smart Card Reader Driver [sp38147]
• HP 3D DriveGuard for Microsoft Windows XP [sp39040] *

Lastly head off to VIA Arena and get and install the latest Chipset drivers.
Reboot again, and everything should now be fine.
* Install the web update first or HP 3D DriveGuard will complain your hard drive isn’t compatible.
