Mini-Note SuSE Linux Restore Disc Images Now Available
HP has released the SuSE Linux disc images for the Mini-Note online that you can use to install or restore SuSE from. Until now there was no way to reinstall SuSE on to the Mini-Note if you messed something up on the factory install. The discs are driver complete as well, so wireless and bluetooth should work right away. Anyone know if the restore images of SuSE have the necessary drivers for hardware 3d acceleration?
I’ll try installing it this weekend and post a video or two on it.

I downloaded this ISO image and it’s not a restore disc. Instead, it contains the source code RPM packages for the SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 SP1 system.
It’s useful if you’re really into Linux. HP is also abiding by the open source licenses by making this available.

I downloaded the H2133 ISO image last night and tried to boot the ISO using an OpenSuse VM I have under VirtualBox. The ISO was not recongised as a bootable image, so does not appear to provide what we need.
I also burned the ISO to a DVD and tried to boot my PC using this DVD, with the same lack of success.
The ISO consists of two directories containing RPM files, with no files in the root directory. When I check other Linux bootable DVDs they contain boot files in root directory. Again, this suggests that the H2133 ISO cannot be booted.
I have also contacted HP Support, who tell me that they have not got access to recovery disks for the H2133. They confirmed that thy ahve received calls from H2133 owners requesting recovery disks and a master call has been raised within HP to resolve this issue.

If you call HP, they should send you a SLED 10.1 recovery disk, however, to date, you cant upgrade to SP2 without issues.
