HP 2133 Mini-Note

Six-cell Mini-Note Batteries Available for $129 from HP

Finally HP has additional six-cell batteries for the Mini-Note for sale now on their site. This isn’t a pre-order or reseller offer, they’re directly from HP. What’s even better is they’re only $129 which means the real three-cell price should be much less whenever they’re finally released. The bad news is the estimated ship date is June 30th, but at least the end is in sight.

Now just to wait for the HP.ca website to catch up. ;)

  2. Caleb Says:

When is the 3 cell going to be made available? I would like to have the choice to make the laptop slim again.

  3. Gavin Birss Says:

I would also appreciate having the 3 cell, becuase current leather cases only cater for it. Have mailed carrymobile about case for 6 cell, but no news yet.

  4. Narius Says:

I’m not so sure I want a 3 cell anymore. It looks a lot nicer, and it does fit in the cases properly etc. However, apparently the battery life is barely over an hour. To me, that’s just way too short. It’d almost force me to carry the power-pack with me everywhere I go, and that defeats the purpose for me.

Currently, with the 6 cell, I can leave behind the power-pack and get about 3-4 hours worth out of the battery. That small bulge is worth it for me now.

I’d like 6 cell battery. but it’s too expensive, right? So I’ll think to buy it later…

  6. Josh Says:

$129 for a battery isn’t totally outrageous. It’s not a great price, but it isn’t likely to decrease any time soon

  7. Geoff Says:

My Kingdom for a 3-cell! The laptop just looses it’s portability and coolness factor with the 6-cell. I’ll deal with the battery life to cut out the bulge and extra weight (since i usually need to carry the power brick any way). At least, that’s my opinion. Also, I spoke to a sales rep at HP who claimed the 3-cells would be on sale towards the end of july, so hopefully he wasn’t lying.

  8. Josh Says:

They probably weren’t lying… The reps usually seem to know only as much as we do, if that.

Does anyone know the part number for that 3 cell battery?

  10. Zaphod Says:

Sorry, but I have to do this (my guess is you know the diff but your fingers did their own thing when you typed it):

site: location/place (eg: website, landing site, building site)
    sight: vision/seeing

So it’s “the end is in sight” … otherwise you’re saying that the end is in an indeterminate physical location. lol

  11. Josh Says:

lol, thanks Zaphod. I’m a web developer and I type ’site’ probably 10 times more than I do ’sight’ during the day. So as you said it was probably just muscle memory getting the best of me…that and relying too much on spell check ;)

  12. Michael Anderson Says:

I would love the 3-cell for better portability, but for >$200 … that is just nuts!

  13. Juan Says:

Actually narius, 3 cell lasts almost two hours (i have one), more if you have the wireless turned off. Of course 6 cells last more, but its not as bad as you think

  14. haru Says:

I have a 3 cell and want to change to a 6 cell. Is anybody there, who is interessted?! haru at vetsch.com
